Morgan Skiles

Morgan recently moved to Seattle after living in Indiana most of her life. Growing up as a dancer, fitness and movement have been core values throughout her upbringing. Morgan graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology with a concentration in Contemporary Dance from Indiana University. It was in college that she first started integrating Pilates into her life as cross training and rehabilitation for dance injuries.
Morgan loves to share her knowledge of anatomy and biomechanics to help improve her clients’ comprehension of posture and human movement. She has been teaching Pilates for 5 years with certifications from STOTT Pilates and PHI Pilates, and continues dancing professionally.
Morgan has worked with all ability levels and loves to bring new and innovative ways to modify and make the movement work for every student in class.

Julie Smith

Methods: Power BARRE, Reformer Pilates, Tone and Stretch, Yoga
Julie discovered Pilates after years of equestrian injuries caught up with her busy life. She holds mat certifications through Power Pilates and Balanced Body, comprehensive equipment through PhysicalMind Institute, and Prenatal/Postnatal Recovery specialized training through Fusion Pilates. The Gyrotonic® method deepened and expanded her movement practice. Creating Better Barre to make form-focused, Pilates based Barre classes accessible and fun, she opened Barre Up in Raleigh, NC and has trained teachers in boutique studios and fitness clubs. She added her 200 RYT and Buti® Yoga certifications to take the intensity of Kundalini yoga into a dynamic and active format. She enjoys weaving snippets of all these disciplines into every class.

Striving to teach the bodies in front of her in open and welcoming classes, Julie creates mind-body connection with sometimes quirky imagery to generate tangible results - and laughter! Her happiest moments are seeing her clients excelling in their daily lives with focus and poise.

Marlys Yvonne

Methods: Reformer Pilates, Power Reformer, Reformer: Tone and Stretch, Personal Training
Marlys is a fully certified Equipment and Mat Pilates instructor, receiving her training from Balanced Body in San Francisco, CA and Vitality Pilates in Seattle, WA. She danced professionally for 5 years in a ballet company before exploring more contemporary movement; finding her place here in Seattle and now continues to perform across a wide rang of mediums. Her experience in dance as well as her knowledge of the Pilates system allows her to tailor specialized cross-training regiments that challenge and bring balance to the body. Marlys is excited to bring her skills to TRIBE and will be offering group classes as well as private sessions to clients of all ages, levels, and ability.

Mary Daugherty

Method: Power Reformer
Mary has been a devoted client of the TRIBE Fitness studio and a dedicated participant in the Power Reformer classes for over 6 years—she BELIEVES in the workout! Being personally involved and interested in fitness and nutrition for many years and having a passion for the Power Reformer method, Mary trained to become a Power Reformer instructor herself. Mary is committed to helping TRIBE clients achieve their fitness goals, stay motivated, and have FUN! Mary is not only an instructor at TRIBE but she also continues to be a client—you will recognize her attending AND teaching classes, because she just can’t get enough! Mary’s personal workouts include Power Reformer as well as Barre, TRX, kickboxing, spinning, running, and weight lifting. Mary is friendly and approachable—when you see her in class or around the studio, stop and say hello!
This class blends together the best of Pilates, yoga, and body sculpting. Get a complete body workout through a high intensity and low impact class that tones your muscles with isolated movements, isometric exercises, and light weights complimented by a continual fat burning process. This class tones your seat, abdominals, thighs, arms as well as strengthens your legs, back, and improves your posture. You will use our own body weight for resistance targeting each of your muscle groups to the point of fatigue. Then, you will stretch those muscles in a way that promotes long and lean muscle growth developing a long and lean physique.

Classes utilize light weights, exercise balls, bands and, of course, TRIBE's ballet barre, to lengthen and align the body. Space is limited to 12 TRIBE community members.
